Creative Anniversary Date Ideas

March 15th, 2008

When you start dating, she will love any gift you give her. However, as your relationship grows she will expect you to give her things that are more meaningful. The following are some factors to consider when thinking about creative anniversary date ideas. Often it can be hard to think of creative anniversary date ideas that will be meaningful and different from your usual routine. Here are a few ideas of ways you can celebrate your past, present and future together.

The Past
Show her you’ve been paying attention to her and you know what she loves.

-If she loves the opera or a band, get tickets.

-Does she love adventures and outdoors? Plan a hike or canoe trip, get a picnic basket and a fishing rod.

-What is her favorite kind of food? Make reservations at a restaurant you’ve never tried, or cook her a meal.

-Do a tribute to your past together with a compilation of small gifts that represent the best things about her and your relationship.

-Make a time capsule box with special mementos from your relationship. Bury it in your backyard so you can dig it up later to add more items, or walk down memory lane together.

The Present
Give her a gift that shows you know who she is.

-Write her a list of all the things you love about her.

-Plan a whole day of presents and surprises, tailored to all the things and places she loves. Then enjoy it with her.

-Send her on a scavenger hunt that you have set up. Do a “story of us” starting with the place you met, and ending in the present time and the final stop on your
memory making scavenger hunt.

-Take a day trip to a place she’s always wanted to go, or a place that she loves. Enjoy the local attractions, have a romantic stroll, dine in the most charming place you can find, and enjoy each other in the present time.

The Future
If you believe the future holds good things for both of you….together, then talk about it. Share your dreams and aspirations, and make plans together.

-Research cities that each of you would love to live in, ideal jobs, look at real estate, share your ideas of a dream life and how you can make it happen. Dream big, you can come back to reality tomorrow.

-If she doesn’t already have one, put a key to your place in a gift box. When she opens it let her know you’re ready to take another step forward in your relationship. Letting her into your place is like letting her into your heart. Tip: This gesture does not mean much if your place is a wreck. Take some pride in the place and do some cleaning, for her and yourself.

-Plan a romantic get away. It can be as simple as a weekend at a bed and breakfast or elaborate swing through Vegas or one of her favorite cities. She won’t have to take days off and you can whisk her away for a romantic and fabulous weekend she will never forget.

-Is she “the one”? If so, and you plan on proposing in the next 1-4 months, make it a day for ring browsing. This gesture shows you are genuine, sweet, and are serious about your relationship and the future. Have breakfast in bed, visit some jewelers, and cap the day with a romantic picnic or dinner to share your thoughts with each other.

These creative anniversary date ideas are a hit, because thought of her and what she loves. Putting your own twist on one of these creative anniversary date ideas will take some time and effort. It will all be worth it when you share a romantic and creative anniversary date. Better get planning, you’ll be glad you did.
